Handwritten letter from Walter C. Childs in Pittsburgh, PA to John Pitcairn, Jr. 1 page, double-sided. Handwriting difficult to decipher in places.

Contents: -letter from Queenstown received; heard of arrival at Richmond on 24th and “drunk accordingly to the absent saints” -Childs writing to long letter to Bishop -letter enclosed from Pendleton; will make Pitcairn feel $100 was well placed -during lively times in society, marked (?) by Hartman’s rambunctiousness about the robes/notes/votes (?), they have often longed for Pitcairn and the old boy (Bishop Benade) -P.S. marked “Private”: made New Years present to John Gillespy of 25 shares Con. Va. (?)
