Handwritten letter from Franklin Ballou in Georgetown, Colorado, to John Pitciarn Jr. 2 pages, double-sided.

Contents: -Snider commenced efforts to block merger of Dives & Pelican Companies; Ballou made needed repairs on Pelican Mill; merger deal reached sooner than expected; company will repossess Mill if/when stock is sold; Ballou now short of cash but will start turning profit again soon -trip East postponed; letters should be sent to W. C. Childs & Co. who will forward them to Ballou -Ballou’s health above average; May (Ballou) not acclimated to altitude/climate & suffering from nervous rheumatism; little boy not doing well; baby very healthy -correspondence w/ Pendleton: Pendleton “infested” by Mr. Hibbard; Hibbard has tendency of “exercising a general providence over others”; Ballou disliked Hibbard’s Denver sermon -Ballou & May received and enjoyed Bishop’s letter; hope to receive additional postcards from travelling party
