-M. Pendleton missing Academy friends after moving to Chicago
-wanted to start Hebrew class but no interest; glad Phila. group is progressing well
-Mr. Pendleton’s evenings taken up with doctrinal classes on West Side & North Side; great need for doctrine, but people only want “good of life” preached; feel like they are in a war against these people, especially regarding state of the Old Church
-7 genuine receivers: private doctrinal class of 6 young people (ages 16-23) who call themselves the “Gymnastics”, & 1 older gentleman (Mr. Forest) whom Pendleton has suggested for membership in Academy
-Mr. Pendleton preparing article for Serial about Love in all its forms
-health: generally improved but doesn’t get out enough; hasn’t had motivation to read; isolated & no way of leaving 2 children; “secret” (i.e. pregnancy) is growing & will “blossom” in May
-children growing fast; Gussie attends Kindergarten & dancing school; Gussie & Lulu remember Starkeys & Mrs. Taffel from Vineland
-Mr. Pendleton had another attack of rheumatic colic; hesitant to find doctor outside the Church
-wish Mr. Pendleton could join other “boys” on visit to Mr. Childs; received invitation but must save $ to attend Convention
