Handwritten letter from Dr. George R. Starkey in Washington, D. C. to his wife, Caira Skelton Starkey. “G. R. Starkey, M. D.” letterhead. Dated "Sunday 9th 1876." No month.

Continents: -taught Sunday school today about correspondence of fig trees; would be interested in teaching own class for a few months -Mr. & Mrs. Hall arrived today; took Mr. Hall to see “the John Bull house of legation”; will go with them to the Pollock’s this evening -Mrs. Hatch’s 54th birthday -sent letter to Gertrude with tickets enclosed, will see about seeds tomorrow -invited to visit Arlington Heights yesterday with Judge Lewis & two pretty young ladies -health of Caira & children? -will send Pauline $ for journey home from California -prospect for Caira’s trip to Washington?
