-relief that Pauline will return from California unengaged- Caira should read all letters between Pauline and her potential partner to judge their respective states
-no word from Pauline on travel plans- George may pick her up, but must wait for word of departure from San Francisco

-misunderstanding over payment for Mrs. P.; no more music lessons for present
