Pendleton recommends that W.F.P. read “The Prophets of Israel” by C. H. Cornill so that they may discuss its contents together. Pendleton comments that Cornill’s book “has all the interest of a powerful drama of the most living and human interest.” Pendleton has also recently read Wellhausen’s “History of Israel” which discusses the historical impact of the prophets.
